omen in Design (WiD), a Boston Society for Architecture Knowledge Community, has announced the winners of its 25th annual WiD Award of Excellence. Aisha Densmore-Bey and Elizabeth Lowrey have been recognized for their outstanding contributions to design.
The peer-nominated award honors individuals who have built their careers around design excellence and give back to the community through their work. Mary McCarthy, co-chair of Women in Design, praised the winners as "pillars of the New England design community" who champion innovation and uplift others.
Aisha Densmore-Bey has dedicated her career to promoting access to and visibility of the design professions, combining artistry with advocacy to drive change. Elizabeth Lowrey's work focuses on designing inspiring interiors that foster community, creativity, and innovation, guided by her parents' activism and conviction in the power of collaboration.
The winners will be celebrated at an awards ceremony on December 4, 2024, from 5:30pm to 8:00pm at the BSA Space in Boston.
