Windermere Agents Rejoin Local Firm After Departure from Compass

Experienced agent group brings over 70 years of combined real estate expertise to Windermere.

F
ive seasoned real estate agents, with a combined 70 years of industry experience, have rejoined Windermere Real Estate after stints at Compass. The group includes Meg Barlament, Kevin Cunningham, Ingrid Haugaard, Darcy LaBelle, and Beathe C. Smith, all of whom previously worked for Windermere before joining Compass.

"We're thrilled to welcome these agents back," said OB Jacobi, co-president of Windermere. "Their return is a testament to our supportive culture, which prioritizes agent collaboration and community." Each agent cited the lack of camaraderie at Compass as a reason for leaving, with some noting they missed the weekly meetings and market discussions that were a hallmark of their time at Windermere.

Barlament returned in June after five months away, citing her desire to be part of a collaborative community. "I realized how much I valued the company culture and camaraderie when I was away," she said. Cunningham, who rejoined in May, praised Windermere's welcoming environment and supportive team. Haugaard, who returned in April after three years at Compass, noted that feeling isolated had hindered her business, but since returning to Windermere, it has taken off.

LaBelle, a 20-year veteran of the industry, moved back to Windermere in May, citing a philosophical alignment with the company's values. Smith, who returned this year after three years at Compass, praised Windermere's collaborative culture and emphasis on treating all agents equally, regardless of their sales volume.
