Yaman Shukairy Returns to Kirkland & Ellis as Private Equity Real Estate Specialist

Kirkland & Ellis welcomes back partner Yaman Shukairy, a leading private equity real estate attorney.

irkland & Ellis has welcomed back private equity real estate attorney Yaman Shukairy as a partner. He returns to the firm after nine years at global alternative asset manager TPG, where he served as general counsel for TREP, the firm's real estate equity investment fund series. In this role, Shukairy oversaw all legal aspects of TREP's investments in North America and Europe, while also providing support to portfolio companies and management teams.

    Shukairy previously worked at Kirkland from 2004 to 2014 as an M&A/private equity partner before joining TPG. His earlier career included analyst roles with Balyasny Asset Management and Merrill Lynch. He earned his law and undergraduate degrees from the University of Michigan.

    Kirkland's Real Estate Practice Group is a multidisciplinary team that advises clients on complex real estate transactions, including fundraising, structuring, deployment of capital, mergers, take-private transactions, and recapitalization. The group represents prominent private equity sponsors, publicly traded REITs, sovereign wealth funds, pension organizations, and other institutional investors.
