Y
onkers is emerging as a hotspot for renters seeking a balance between city life and suburban tranquility. The Westchester city, once known for being a drive-through town with a blue-collar past, is now attracting developers with its growing appeal to those looking for a new home.

Hudson Piers, a massive development by Extell, will bring 369 apartments and 10,000 square feet of commercial space to the riverfront. The six-building complex offers stunning views of the Hudson River and features high-end amenities such as an outdoor pool, riverfront gym, and landscaped terraces with fire pits.

The company's Chicken Island development will bring 2,000 apartments to the market, while its Teutonia Hall project will add 906 apartments to the city's downtown.

The city's administration is actively shaping its downtown into a vibrant and livable community, with riverfront access and a contiguous waterfront promenade that will be open to the public. Yonkers' train station serves both Amtrak and Metro-North, making it easy for residents to commute to Manhattan or work in the city.

As one developer noted, "Yonkers is poised to be the next New York borough."
