illow Group has acquired Virtual Staging AI (VSAI), a company that enables home sellers, agents, and photographers to create digitally staged listing images without physical furniture or decor. The acquisition closed on October 7, 2024, with the VSAI teams beginning to integrate into Zillow.

Their AI-powered virtual staging technology generates high-quality, fully staged images that are nearly indistinguishable from traditionally staged listings.

    Real estate professionals can easily upload room photos, select a style, and create staged images instantly with VSAI's interactive technology. This eliminates wait time and back-and-forth to implement changes, making it easier for agents to serve their clients.

    The acquisition underscores Zillow's commitment to enabling the real estate industry to become more digital, integrated, and productive. By leveraging Zillow's tech expertise, professionals can focus on high-value work that makes a customer experience exceptional.

    According to Zillow research, home sellers consider interactive media when preparing to list their home. For example, 71% of sellers are more likely to hire an agent who includes virtual tours or interactive floor plans in their services. Virtual staging gives sellers another option to enhance their listing.

    VSAI's technology is currently available through their website and will be offered to agents and photographers through Zillow's product suite soon. The VSAI team, co-founded by Michael Bonacina and Mikhail Andreev in 2023, has joined Zillow's AI and tech teams to continue developing this virtual staging technology.
