eremy Wacksman has taken over as CEO of Zillow Group, a real estate marketplace company. He has been with the company for over 15 years and has held various roles including marketing and product management lead, chief marketing officer, and president before becoming COO. Under his leadership, Zillow has shifted to a remote-first work model, embracing "CloudHQ" which allows employees to work from home with a small number of "center of gravity" offices throughout the country. The company aims to digitize the home buying process, which is currently a face-to-face transaction, using AI to accelerate their processes. Wacksman believes that AI will play a crucial role in the future of real estate but acknowledges that it will take time for this technology to be fully integrated into the industry. He also emphasizes the need for more housing supply to balance the supply-demand equation in the housing market, which has been affected by the pandemic.
