The Odyssey Hotel Group (OHG) has taken another step towards expanding its hotel portfolio in Germany with the conclusion of an operator agreement for the Mövenpick Hotel in Münster. This agreement represents OHG's first contract with the Mövenpick brand, although a collaboration with the umbrella brand Accor already exists.
This new addition is part of the Odyssey Hotel Group's continued growth strategy in the German market. The signing of the contract follows immediately after the agreement with Covivio, announced in August 2026, which includes four additional hotels in Germany with a total of 1,200 rooms. OHG's total portfolio now comprises over 5,600 rooms across 30 hotels in six European countries, 19 of which are located in Germany.
The corporate strategy aims to expand the portfolio to a total of 55 hotels with over 7,000 rooms by 2028. To achieve this goal, OHG is expanding its pan-European third-party management and operator platform across various markets and brands to support institutional hotel owners.
The Mövenpick Hotel Münster
The Mövenpick Hotel Münster is an established fixture in the hotel infrastructure of Münster, a city with approximately 320,000 inhabitants located in North Rhine-Westphalia. The property offers 224 rooms and suites, as well as eleven meeting and event rooms with a total area of more than 1,000 square metres. Additionally, the hotel features a 350 square metre rooftop spa and fitness area, two restaurants, and a lounge bar. A total of 193 parking spaces are available to guests in outdoor areas and the underground car park.
A comprehensive renovation of the hotel is planned to optimise the guest experience and bring the property in line with the latest Mövenpick brand standards. The hotel's location directly on Lake Aasee and the adjacent recreational area is considered advantageous. The property also benefits from good transport links due to its proximity to the B54 federal road and various public transport lines.
Strategic Importance and Operational Focus
Jules van Gaalen, SVP Development & Asset Management at Odyssey Hotel Group, commented that this mandate consistently continues the ongoing growth strategy in Germany and Europe. He highlighted that this is the first hotel in Münster for the group and underlines its ability to ensure operational excellence in diverse markets – both in metropolitan areas and medium-sized cities. OHG intends to fully exploit the potential of this hotel and its location, relying on its own digital tools to increase transparency and efficiency and improve the guest experience.
The transaction was managed by the Odyssey Hotel Group's Development & Asset Management team, from acquisition through structuring and negotiations to the successful conclusion of the agreement. The hotel was previously operated by Revo Hospitality.
