Actemium, an industrial brand of the VINCI Energies Group, commissioned a consolidated site in Düsseldorf in 2025. The property used for this purpose, "Polar" at Theodorstraße 182, is DGNB Gold-certified and covers an area of approximately 2,000 square metres. The redesign of the working environment was carried out in cooperation with Kinnarps. The objective was to bring together several business units that previously operated decentrally in the Rhineland, and to create a working environment that combines technological requirements with human well-being.
The conceptualisation of the new premises resulted from an iterative process in which employees were actively involved in the planning phase. A core challenge was to integrate the disparate requirements of a diverse workforce. This necessity manifested itself in the implementation of different office solutions: in addition to single, two-person, and three-person offices, open-plan areas and flexible meeting rooms were realised. This diversification reflects the need for various working modes – from concentrated activities to collaborative exchange.
Design and Sustainability Ambition
The interior design by Kinnarps integrated industrial aesthetics into the spatial concept by using coordinated colours and materials. These elements were linked with Actemium's corporate design to generate a coherent overall appearance. The design is intended to combine technical precision with a calming working atmosphere to meet the requirements of a company operating in the fields of energy and digitalisation. Sustainability played a central role in the furnishing.
An essential criterion for the furniture was the focus on durable and high-quality materials, produced using resource-efficient methods. Kinnarps was able to meet this requirement. The site is predestined for further growth, not least due to its central location in North Rhine-Westphalia. Additional office spaces are planned for future expansion.
The employees' feedback on the new premises is positive. A noticeable improvement in internal team communication has been observed. The forward-looking working environment also contributes to increasing Actemium's attractiveness as an employer.
