The ALEXA shopping centre in Berlin, managed by Sonae Sierra and owned by Union Investment, has received an outstanding rating in the latest 2026 Shopping Centre Performance Report. In this analysis, ALEXA achieved third place among a total of 400 assessed shopping centres in Germany. Simultaneously, the property once again topped the ranking in Berlin, a position it has now held for the fifth time.
ALEXA's consistent performance is underscored by its long-standing presence among the country's leading shopping centres. In the previous ranking from 2025, the centre was already listed in seventh place in Germany and has regularly maintained a position in the Top 10 for years.
Assessment Methodology
The annually published Shopping Centre Performance Report is compiled by the Wiesbaden-based consultancy Ecostra. The assessment is based on satisfaction surveys among retailers, restaurateurs and service providers located in the evaluated shopping centres. Sales and expansion managers provide information on various aspects, particularly their satisfaction with the sales achieved. Media partners for the report are "Immobilien Zeitung" and "Textilwirtschaft".
Oliver Hanna, Sonae Sierra Centre Manager for ALEXA in Berlin, commented on the report's publication. He highlighted that ALEXA has written a continuous success story since its opening in 2007. Hanna extended his thanks to all those involved who have contributed to positioning ALEXA as one of the most successful centres in Germany and Berlin for almost two decades.
Christine Hager, Member of the Management Board of Sonae Sierra in Germany and Director of Property Management, emphasised that ALEXA's top nationwide ranking reflects the appreciation for the services provided and the professional management. She highlighted the creation of value for tenants, customers and investors and expressed her pride in the entire team.
