Allgemeine SÜDBODEN is pushing ahead with the infrastructure expansion at Campus Neue Balan in the east of Munich. The company has signed Sweetvibes GmbH, together with its Y.OUR Event & Catering division, to operate the future staff restaurant. The opening of the new canteen is scheduled for January 2027.
The new catering space is being created in House 10 of the campus, directly on the district boundary with Haidhausen. Across a floor area of more than 900 square metres, the property offers indoor seating for around 190 guests. Two connected outdoor terraces supplement the seating capacity. In selecting the operator, Allgemeine SÜDBODEN deliberately opted against a traditional contract caterer, instead awarding the operation to a profile-led hospitality business.
Comprehensive catering concept under the 'Lilly's' brand
The staff restaurant will trade under the name 'Lilly's'. It combines traditional lunchtime dining with an integrated coffee bar, a breakfast selection, and takeaway options. Alongside a fixed core menu comprising pasta, curries, salads, and bowls, the offering will feature changing daily specials, seasonal dishes, and wholesome vegan options.
Thomas D. Sterk, authorised signatory at Allgemeine SÜDBODEN, points out that the expansion is based on an employee survey conducted across the companies located on the campus. The workforce had voiced a clear demand for an additional canteen. By bringing in an authentic restaurateur, the aim is to guarantee high standards in terms of quality and variety.
Expansion of campus infrastructure and conference catering
The future staff restaurant complements the existing on-site provision, which includes the BalanDeli restaurant, the chicco di caffè coffee bar, and a supermarket. According to Eric König, Managing Director of Sweetvibes, the concept is designed to establish a central meeting point tailored to the practical day-to-day requirements of the staff.

Sweetvibes is already established in the Munich market, operating venues including the Y.Pavillon on the commercial campus on Infanteriestraße in the Schwabing-West district. At Campus Neue Balan, the service provider's scope will therefore not be limited to the restaurant, but will also cover catering for tenant events and conferences.
