Construction company Brasfield & Gorrie is relocating its South Florida base from Coral Gables to Weston. There, the company signed a lease for 19,330 square feet. The general contractor will move into the Weston Pointe I building in the second quarter of 2027, according to JLL, which represented the tenant.
Brasfield & Gorrie will occupy most of the third floor within the four-storey building at 2400 North Commerce Parkway, west of the I-75. The property is part of the Weston Pointe Campus, which was built between 1999 and 2001 and consists of two buildings.
Strategic Expansion and Location Choice
The move will triple Brasfield & Gorrie's presence compared to its previous location in Coral Gables, where the company was housed in Ryder System's former headquarters. Ryan Levy of JLL, who advised Brasfield & Gorrie on the transaction, stated that Brasfield & Gorrie required additional office space to accommodate its rapid growth. Weston offers the strategically advantageous location and connectivity for this purpose.
Chase Kulp and Deanna Lobinsky from Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord, New York Life Investment Management. This company had acquired the 99,752-square-foot property in 2016 for US$114.8 million.
Further Growth at Other Locations
Brasfield & Gorrie is also expanding at its headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama. There, the groundbreaking ceremony for an 88,000-square-foot, four-storey building took place in March, which will extend the existing office premises. This expansion is expected to cost US$65 million.
