The Education Real Estate Initiative, a network coordinated by bulwiengesa, has significantly expanded its number of members. With the admission of Art-Invest Real Estate, KanAm Grund Group, and KGAL, eleven companies are now involved in this platform. This expansion underlines the growing importance of the education real estate sector and the need for structured exchange between public bodies, the real estate industry, and other relevant stakeholders.

The new members complement the initiative's expertise, particularly in the areas of educational development, institutional asset management, and real assets. The group of now eleven member companies covers the essential perspectives along the entire value chain of education real estate. This includes financing and planning, project development, legal structuring, and long-term portfolio management.

Expansion of expertise and goals of the initiative

The original founding members of the initiative include renowned industry players, among them Deutsche Kreditbank AG, Drees & Sommer, GSK Stockmann, HIH Projektentwicklung, Hemsö, LHI Group, LBBW Immobilien, and mondial KVG. The overall development reflects the increasing interest in education real estate as an integral part of social infrastructure.

Sven Carstensen, Managing Director of bulwiengesa, commented on the positive response to the initiative and emphasised the high demand for exchange, transparency, and reliable information in the education real estate segment. He explained that the initiative, together with its members, is working to systematically aggregate this knowledge and provide guidance for municipalities, investors, and other market participants. This serves to fulfil the initiative's actual mandate.

The substantive work of the initiative is already well underway. A first specialist publication is currently being prepared in cooperation with the member companies. This focuses on aspects of the development and financing of education real estate, as well as on establishing a solid data basis for municipalities and market participants.

Through studies, network meetings, and continuous dialogue, the initiative aims to bring education real estate more into the focus of the property market. In cooperation with the public sector, this should lead to greater transparency, reliable data, and better orientation for future decisions. The initiative remains open to the participation of further market participants; public sector institutions, in particular, are explicitly invited to contribute their experiences and perspectives and thus actively shape the further development of this market segment.
