A significant milestone has been reached for the development of Rehburg Residential Park at Steinhuder Meer Nature Park with the formal approval from the Rehburg-Loccum City Council. The tegeler Group is planning the creation of an intergenerational residential and care quarter there. The concept integrates living, nursing care, support, gastronomy, and diverse service offerings in a central location. A total investment of approximately EUR 37 million is earmarked for this project. The quarter is expected to provide space for up to 250 residents and create 80 to 120 new jobs.
The planned project by the tegeler Group represents one of the largest residential, nursing, and care projects in the region. It aims to make a sustainable contribution to housing provision, care infrastructure, and the future viability of Rehburg-Loccum. Aspects of living, care, work, and community are interconnected within an integrated district concept. The residential park pursues a comprehensive neighbourhood approach, which includes age-appropriate housing, multi-family homes, and staff accommodation in addition to nursing and care services. The project is not exclusively aimed at senior citizens but seeks to realise various forms of housing for older people, families, couples, single individuals, and employees. Gastronomy and meeting facilities are planned to open up the quarter and serve as a gathering place for residents and the public.
Comprehensive Care and Urban Impulses
A key feature of the project is the intended consolidation of all care services under one roof. This enables continuous support for individuals even as their life situations change and the provision of services from a single source. Jens Tegeler, Managing Director of the tegeler Group, explained that Rehburg Residential Park is planned to be far more than a classic nursing care offering; it aims to create a place that connects living, care, provision, and community. The goal is to offer people in various life stages an attractive home while sustainably strengthening the region's care structures.

The development of the quarter will proceed in four construction phases and comprises a total of approximately 10,740 square metres of usable space. The first construction phase includes a stationary nursing home with 71 nursing places, 12 palliative care places, a public cafe, and barrier-free outdoor facilities, amounting to a total of 83 new care places. Subsequent construction phases will see further facilities such as day care, assisted living, a care residential community, senior apartments, multi-family homes, and additional housing options.
Another focus is on creating housing for skilled workers. Between 15 and 23 staff accommodations are planned to increase the attractiveness of the location for employees in the nursing and healthcare sectors and to support long-term skilled worker retention. Heinz Beekmann, a member of the management board and project developer, noted that the City Council's approval is an important step for the further development of the project, and Rehburg Residential Park is expected to make a sustainable contribution to housing provision, nursing infrastructure, and regional development, while simultaneously creating jobs and investing in the location for the long term. The project is anticipated to create 80 to 120 jobs in nursing, day care, outpatient care, gastronomy, administration, and building services, and will involve regional construction and craft businesses.
