The EIKA Group has completed the acquisition of a logistics property in Nordenham. Nordic Investment & Capital Partners (NCAP) acted as investment advisor in this transaction. The vendor of the property is a property company associated with the project developer E-Gruppe, based in Herne. The details of the purchase price are subject to a confidentiality agreement between the parties involved.

The asset in Nordenham is a recently completed property, with construction expected to finish by the end of 2024. It offers a total rental area of approximately 15,600 square metres, divided into three separate units. The units are already fully let to tenants from the aviation and transport logistics sectors.

A prominent feature of the acquired property is its comprehensive alignment with sustainability criteria. The asset is DGNB Gold certified, documenting its fulfilment of demanding standards concerning ecological, economic, and sociocultural quality. The technical equipment includes a photovoltaic system for self-generated electricity, wind turbines, and an air-to-water heat pump. These installations significantly contribute to reducing energy consumption and emissions, thus qualifying the property as a future-proof investment.

Stephan Obermayer, Managing Partner at NCAP-Germany, commented on the acquisition, stating that Nordenham should be regarded as an exemplary investment for the client. He explained that it aligns with the approach of acquiring modern, DGNB Gold certified properties with the prospect of stable and sustainable cash flows. This acquisition, Obermayer noted, serves to further the strategic development of a sustainably oriented portfolio for the client. The transaction therefore underscores the growing importance of ESG criteria in real estate investments and the demand for properties that meet both economic and environmental requirements.

Nordenham, as the location of the logistics property, benefits from its geographical position in northwest Germany. The region is characterised by its connections to important infrastructure and its proximity to seaports, making it attractive for companies in transport and aviation logistics. The availability of modern, sustainable logistics spaces in such strategic locations remains a central factor for the competitiveness of logistics service providers and the resilience of supply chains. The acquisition by the EIKA Group reflects the ongoing demand for high-quality logistics properties that meet current requirements for efficiency, connectivity, and sustainability.
