An exclusive villa in Rhode Island, once custom-built for former professional golfer and eight-time PGA Tour winner Brad Faxon, has found a new owner for $11.9 million. This sale establishes a new peak value for residential properties in the community of Barrington. Faxon commissioned renowned Rhode Island architect David Andreozzi in 2005 to design this Nantucket-style estate. A special feature was, and still is, a small indoor putting green, which remains on the property today.

The most recent owners have extensively redesigned parts of the nearly four-acre plot. They added expansive terraces, a tennis court, a 50-foot infinity pool, and a pool cabana offering impressive views over Narragansett Bay. The transaction was handled by Kim Marion of Engel & Völkers Oceanside.

Inside the former Faxon estate, the kitchen forms the prelude to the main living areas. It features a long layout that extends to the breakfast nook and family room. White glass-front cabinets above marble countertops define the look, while a generously sized island with seating on one side and a sink on the other is centrally positioned.

Adjacent to the kitchen is a separate butler's pantry, finished in a deep green. It features glazed upper cabinets, additional work surfaces, and under-counter refrigeration. The breakfast nook at the end of the kitchen impresses with a custom-built banquette that follows the curve of the windows above. A round table with woven chairs fills the space, and nearby French doors open directly to the garden.

Living Areas and Outdoor Facilities

The formal dining room, another option for meals, is located on the waterside of the house. A long table is placed here beneath two shimmering chandeliers. Three curved glass doors line the rear wall, framing the bay views and connecting the room to the covered outdoor terrace. Between the breakfast nook and the dining room, the family room continues the open-plan concept and the house's water views. White sofas and two darker leather armchairs are grouped around a coffee table, facing a media wall with integrated shelving and a television.

A large entertainment room on the opposite side of the house completes the main living areas. A bar extends under a marble countertop, with upholstered stools in front and dark blue cabinets behind, arranged around glazed bottle storage and a television. The other side of the room opens to a lounge with a fireplace and a grand piano near the window wall.

The master suite upstairs is designed to maximise the water views, with three arched windows on the rear wall. The bed sits under a vaulted ceiling, while a separate seating area with two armchairs and ottomans occupies the opposite side of the room. The additional bedroom suites are spread across separate levels, offering guests privacy while continuing the coastal detail that runs through all main rooms.

Outside, a series of terraces and gathering areas extend behind the house, stepping down to the pool, lawn, and bay. Covered and open terraces adjoin the main living areas. The 20 by 50-foot infinity pool, situated parallel to the coastline, is surrounded by wide stone terraces with sun loungers. By the pool, there are two larger entertainment areas: a covered loggia with its own fireplace and television, and an open fire pit lounge.
