Following the successful buyback of shares from previous investor Auctus Capital, hotel group Gorgeous Smiling Hotels (GSH) is carrying out an extensive realignment. As part of this financial restructuring, all existing bank loans have been fully repaid. The company is now once again entirely under the joint entrepreneurial leadership of Heiko Grote and Andreas Erben, who will guide operations and expansion going forward with clearly defined areas of responsibility.
The management structure establishes a defined division of responsibilities: Heiko Grote oversees day-to-day operations and focuses on the qualitative development of hotel operations. Andreas Erben is responsible for finance, development and the group's strategic expansion. In this context, Grote emphasised that employees formed the foundation of the company's success. Plans include strengthening teams, optimising operational processes and fostering hospitality rooted in responsibility.
Digitalisation and operating metrics
A key lever of the corporate strategy lies in the implementation of modern technologies and artificial intelligence. The hotel group is currently already using an AI-assisted telephone service handling enquiries in 13 languages. In addition, future software solutions are intended to simplify processes across reservations, payments and check-in to relieve hotel staff of routine administrative tasks.
Operating metrics reflect this course positively. Compared to the prior-year period, the group recorded an increase in occupancy of more than ten per cent. Revenue per available room, measured as RevPAR, improved by over 4.5 per cent at the same time.
Portfolio and European pipeline
The group's existing portfolio currently comprises 77 properties with a total of 7,623 rooms in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy. The brand portfolio consists of proprietary concepts alongside international partnerships with Wyndham, Hilton, IHG and Accor. In addition to five hotel conversions already completed, six further secured projects are in the development pipeline.
Andreas Erben explained that the commercial and strategic foundations had now been established to continue expansion in a structured manner. Technology and artificial intelligence opened up new opportunities for operational efficiency and service quality, while the objective remained sustainable growth accompanied by dependable personal hospitality.
