H.I.G. Capital, a globally operating alternative investment firm with USD 75 billion of equity under management, has announced the acquisition of Phoenix ME Limited by an affiliate. Phoenix ME is a UK-based service provider specialising in integrated mechanical and electrical building services. Its service portfolio includes data centres, the life sciences sector, infrastructure projects, and general commercial construction.

The transaction will see Lee Compton, Phoenix's Managing Director and founder, reinvesting in the company alongside H.I.G. The existing management team will continue in their roles, guiding the company's future development. Furthermore, Jim Arnold will assume the role of Chairman to support the management and H.I.G. in executing Phoenix’s next phase of growth.

Strategic Positioning and Service Spectrum

Phoenix has established itself as a key player in providing design, installation, and commissioning services for mechanical and electrical systems. The company boasts an established customer base of major clients located in both the United Kingdom and Europe. It has earned a reputation for precise execution and reliable delivery of complex, mission-critical projects. This includes numerous significant infrastructure projects in London, particularly those related to the dynamically growing data centre and life sciences segments.

Phoenix's management sees substantial potential to further support both existing and new clients with their most demanding projects. The strategic direction also includes expanding its presence in Europe and broadening its service offerings. This is to be achieved through both organic growth and targeted strategic acquisitions.

Lee Compton emphasised Phoenix's long-standing commitment to quality and reliability, which has made the company a trusted partner for major contractors and end-clients in the industry. He expressed confidence that the collaboration with H.I.G. will enable the continued delivery of outstanding results in the growing end markets. John Harper, Managing Director at H.I.G. in London, added that Phoenix's end markets are set to experience significant growth in the coming years and that they look forward to working with the Phoenix team to build on its track record of providing high-quality engineering services.
