JCL Home Delivery Germany GmbH is setting the course for further growth in North Rhine-Westphalia. The company has extended its existing lease for the property at Am Eifeltor 16-22 in Cologne early and will substantially expand its leased capacity from 2027. Advisory firm Logivest accompanied the negotiations between the tenant and the owner, Prologis Germany Management GmbH.
JCL Home Delivery Germany provides domestic and international freight forwarding, warehousing and furniture logistics services. Logivest previously brokered around 5,000 square metres of warehouse space for the service provider at this location back in 2018. Following growth in its client base, the company will in future enlarge the leased area to more than 9,500 square metres of warehouse and office space.
Property features and transport infrastructure links
The property in the south of Cologne meets the functional requirements of modern transhipment operations. In addition to a clear height of 10 metres to the underside of the truss, the building features 16 dock levellers for loading and unloading heavy goods vehicles. A key locational advantage is its direct integration into the Cologne-Eifeltor freight logistics centre.
- —Direct dedicated access to the A4 motorway
- —Fast access to the A1 motorway and the B265 federal road
- —Convenient link to the rail network via a nearby railway station
- —A distance of only around 20 kilometres to Cologne/Bonn Airport
Thomas Schmidt, Managing Director at Logivest NRW GmbH, highlights the high status of the Cologne-Eifeltor freight logistics centre as one of the most established logistics locations in the region. The direct link to the A4 motorway, together with proximity to other long-distance transport routes, the rail network and the airport, offers ideal conditions for distribution-intensive service providers.
Kresimir Basic, Head of Letting at Logivest NRW GmbH, also underlines the success of the long-term site development. Targeted support was provided to JCL Home Delivery Germany GmbH during the letting process, ensuring that the existing tenancy resulted not only in a timely continuation, but also in a substantial expansion of space.
