Leonardo Hotels completed the acquisition of three hotels previously managed by Revo in Munich, Hanover, and Braunschweig, effective 1 October. The transaction expands the hotel group's German portfolio by a total of 735 rooms. While the acquisitions in Munich and Hanover strengthen the hotel group's existing presence, Leonardo Hotels is establishing itself in Braunschweig for the first time with this location.
Jan Heringa, Vice President Development and Project Management at Leonardo Hotels Central Europe, commented on the acquired properties. He pointed out that the three properties have different profiles and conditions, ranging from a large conference and event hotel in Munich to a city-centre location in Hanover and the new site in Braunschweig. This diversity, he stated, is consistent with the company's approach of purposefully developing its network in various locations and with diverse hotel offerings.
For the property in Hanover, which is part of the Real I.S. portfolio, Hendrik Kob, Director Asset Management, explained the choice of Leonardo Hotels as an experienced and creditworthy operator. The collaboration was instrumental in ensuring a seamless transition.
Strengthening Established Destinations
In Munich, the former HYPERION Hotel was acquired and will operate under the name Leonardo Royal Munich Bavaria Towers. This hotel marks the twelfth property for the Leonardo Group in the Bavarian capital and expands the local offering by 341 rooms and studios. The facility boasts six meeting rooms spanning approximately 700 square metres, providing capacity for up to 290 people. Additionally, there is a restaurant with front cooking, a bar and lounge area, a fitness area, over 130 parking spaces, and charging stations for electric vehicles. The hotel is located in the Bogenhausen Gate complex, near Prinzregentenplatz. The city centre is about four kilometres away, and Messe München can be reached in less than ten minutes by car.
The former Intercity Hotel Hannover Hauptbahnhof Ost will complement the existing portfolio in Hanover as Leonardo Hanover City Center. This means Leonardo Hotels will henceforth be represented by four properties in the Lower Saxony capital. The 14-storey hotel is located directly on the east side of the main railway station. It features 220 rooms, a restaurant, an outdoor terrace, and a bar. Five conference rooms, three of which can be combined, are available for conference guests.
New Presence in Northern Germany
With the Leonardo Braunschweig City Center, Leonardo Hotels is present in the city of Braunschweig for the first time. The hotel features 174 air-conditioned rooms, equipped with flat-screen TVs, desks, and safes. The four conference rooms offer modern conference technology and air conditioning. The dining options include a restaurant and a bar. The former Intercity Hotel is located directly at the main railway station and offers excellent connections to the city centre and the region. Attractions such as the historic Burgplatz, St. Blaise's Cathedral, the Residential Palace, and the Magniviertel are easily accessible from this location.
