Adrien Brody's Unconventional Home: A Surprising Architectural Departure

The Brutalist star reveals a softer side: Tudor-inspired design tastes.

A
drien Brody, now 51, has been nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor, marking the second time in his career he's received this honor. His performance in The Brutalist, a film about a visionary architect rebuilding his life in America after escaping post-war Europe, earned him the nomination. While Brody is often seen on the red carpet and at award shows, his personal life remains private.

One property that has been made public is Stone Barn Castle, which Brody purchased in 2007 for $650,000. The castle was originally designed as a dairy farm by Charles William Knight between 1896 and 1906 but fell into disrepair after the Great Depression. In 1969, it was transformed into a castle and opened to the public for events.

Brody's renovation of the property took seven years to complete, with the help of filmmaker Kevin Ford and interior designer Joy Moyler. The project was documented, and Brody has spoken about how it changed him, saying it made him a "better human being" and taught him responsibility. The estate features ironwork by local blacksmiths, sculptural elements from India, and an art studio for Brody's creative works.

Brody owns multiple homes but keeps their locations private. Stone Barn Castle is not his primary residence, but he does stay there from time to time.
