Andover Estate Once Owned by Robert Urich Lists for $9.7 Million

Town's most expensive residential listing sets a new price record.

T
he former home of "Spenser: For Hire" star Robert Urich is on the market for $9.7 million, making it the highest-priced residential listing in Andover to date. The six-bedroom, 10-bathroom estate at 24 Phillips St. was built in 1890 as the Dove-Hayes estate and features stunning crown molding, wood paneling, and a marble foyer with a grand staircase.

The property has undergone significant updates while maintaining its original historic character. The primary suite boasts a cozy fireplace and a modernized bathroom with a walk-through shower. A third floor offers extra bedrooms and bathroom space, and the carriage house can be used as a gym or guest suite.

Set on 15 acres of land abutting Phillips Academy, the property features rolling green lawns, a fountain, and a walled-off garden area with a gazebo. The outdoor space includes a 25-yard lap pool, a pool house, and wraparound IPE decks with a fire pit. The in-town location is just a five-minute walk from downtown Andover.

According to Henry Gourdeau of Gibson Sotheby's International Realty, who has the listing, "The house just kind of shines with all its original character... It's a pretty special place."
