A
ndy Cohen is parting ways with his beloved West Village penthouse duplex, which has been sold to Emmy-winning playwright and screenwriter Danny Strong and his partner Caitlin Mehner for its full $12 million asking price. The couple, who recently welcomed a 7-month-old daughter, had been searching for more space to accommodate their growing family.
The 3,500-square-foot co-op at 2 Horatio Street boasts stunning views of Manhattan landmarks, bold color schemes, and custom details like a sculptural walnut staircase connecting its two levels. Designed by architect Gordon Kahn with interiors by Eric Hughes, the home features four bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, two fireplaces, and striking elements such as a gold-tiled bar and marble fireplaces.
Strong, who is set to bring his musical Chess to Broadway this fall, has called the duplex "my dream home." The couple's purchase marks a significant real estate shift, as Strong is in contract to sell his current residence at 299 West 12th Street – the same building where Cohen just purchased a new penthouse for $18.21 million.
The sale also highlights the professional milestone of real estate broker Ryan Serhant, who represented Cohen's listing alongside Donna Strugatz. Serhant had previously shared news of the contract on Instagram and later told The New York Times that it was "one of those treasures that you wait your whole career for."
