psilanti-based artist Gary Horton has completed another mural in Ann Arbor as part of @properties' "love where you live" campaign. The mural, titled 'Love Letter,' is located on the side of their office at 912 N Main Street and features a unique spin on the iconic "love" font created by public artist Matthew Hoffman.
Horton's design was influenced by the original font, but he added his own spirit to it. He worked with @properties owner Eric Walstrom to ensure that the mural reflected the company's core value of love. The mural is meant to be a reflection of @properties and Christie's International Real Estate's commitment to serving their community.
The project was a collaboration between Horton and local artist Payton James, who helped prime the surface for the mural. Horton enjoys working with other artists and hopes that his art can inspire younger artists to pursue careers in the field. He believes that seeing other artists succeed has motivated him throughout his career.
Horton's passion for art began when he was a child, watching a man sell small plaques with comic book characters at the Ann Arbor farmers market. Today, his work can be seen across the city, including murals and paintings in various locations such as Condado Tacos and Cahoots.
