elebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz, 75, has sold her West Village loft for $8 million, according to property records. The news was first reported by Crain's.
Located at 495 West St., the full-floor residence boasts a striking 60-foot row of steel-clad windows showcasing the Hudson River. The industrial-chic dwelling is part of architect/developer Cary Tamarkin's nine-story boutique building, which dates back to 1998 and features full-floor apartments and two duplexes.
Leibovitz purchased the live-work unit for $6.5 million in 2022, setting it up as a photography studio. The loft was a way for her to downsize from her previous Civil War-era West Village compound, which she sold for $28.5 million to David and Lauren Bush Lauren.
The recently sold pad spans 3,198 square feet with two bedrooms and 2½ bathrooms. It features a woodburning fireplace, heated bluestone floors, a wet bar, and an open eat-in kitchen. A library nook with custom bookshelves adds charm, but can also be converted into a third bedroom.
Leibovitz has had a successful real estate year, selling her Upper West Side residence at 88 Central Park West for $10.62 million in February, more than 23% above its asking price. The building, known as the Brentmore, has been home to notable residents like Sting, Robert De Niro, Paul Simon, and Lorne Michaels.
The listing broker was Corcoran's Deborah Kern.
