Artist Anish Kapoor Lists NYC Home for $17.75M with Sculpture in Front Yard

His unit at 56 Leonard St. showcases sculptural design and architecture.

A
nish Kapoor, the Mumbai-born British artist behind Chicago's iconic "Cloud Gate" sculpture and New York's own version at 56 Leonard St., is re-listing his Tribeca apartment in the same building. The 3,576-square-foot unit boasts four bedrooms, 4.5 baths, and stunning views from its floor-to-ceiling windows on the 47th floor.

Kapoor purchased the apartment directly from the sponsor for approximately $14 million in 2016. Now, it's back on the market for $17.75 million, a slight decrease from its previous ask of $17.99 million with a different brokerage last year.

The elegant home features high ceilings, three private outdoor spaces, and opens onto a great room with 12-foot ceilings, a fireplace, and an open chef's kitchen. The main bedroom corner suite comes with an oversized walk-in closet and a spa-like bath in travertine and marble with radiant-heated floors.

Residents of the building, designed by Herzog & de Meuron, also enjoy access to an indoor lap pool with sundeck, a gym, screening room, residents' lounge, private dining room, and children's playroom. The listing brokers are Krista Nickols and Martin Garcia of Serhant.
