ustin Butler has taken over Brad Pitt’s Los Angeles home, paying $5.2 million for the 2,000‑sq‑ft, L‑shaped “Steel House” just three months after it was burglarized. The minimalist property, located in Los Feliz, features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, floor‑to‑ceiling glass, a built‑in sauna and a pool, all set on a hillside with sweeping city views. Its interior showcases terrazzo flooring, cantilevered eaves, exposed beams, cobalt‑tiled bedrooms, and blue‑cabinetry in the kitchen, primary suite, bathroom and walk‑in closet. Outdoor amenities include a redwood hot tub and a standalone sauna.
In late June, while Pitt was in Tokyo, three thieves scaled the fence, broke through front windows and ransacked the house for about ten minutes, taking an undisclosed haul. The break‑in exposed the home’s lack of fencing and 24‑hour security, concerns that neighbors had long voiced. Pitt, who had bought the property from Aileen Getty in April 2023, quickly upgraded security after the incident, but the event likely prompted his move to a fortified $12 million Spanish‑style estate in the Hollywood Hills, complete with a top‑tier security system. The new estate had previously belonged to The Killers guitarist Dave Keuning.
The “Steel House” was listed by Jonathan Mogharrabi and Marci Kays of Carolwood Estates. Following the burglary, four suspects were arrested in August; investigators linked them to the case through forensic evidence and a separate attempted burglary.
Austin Butler’s acquisition marks a swift transition for the Los Feliz property, turning a sleek, open‑concept home into a new celebrity residence amid heightened security concerns.
