Bengaluru Eatery Bans Politics, Sparks Online Debate

Bangalore restaurant sparks online debate with "no politics" board.

A
restaurant in Bengaluru has sparked a debate on social media with its unique board instructing customers not to discuss real estate or politics. The board, seen at Paakashala, reads: "This facility is only for dine-in purpose. Not for real estate/political discussions. Please understand and cooperate." A photo of the board was shared on X, where users weighed in on the need for such a notice.

Some agreed that it's necessary to maintain a peaceful dining environment, while others found it amusing or common practice in Bengaluru restaurants. One user suggested that people often get agitated during political discussions, leading to long conversations and affecting business. Others pointed out that similar boards are common in Udupi restaurants and major hotels, where customers would buy multiple coffees and sit for hours.

The debate is reminiscent of a previous viral post about an Irani cafe's extensive list of rules, including prohibitions on outside food and flirting with the cashier. The cafe's bold statement "No is a complete sentence and it does not require justification" sparked discussion among users.
