n a shocking turn of events, the identity of a man found dead along Queens' Clearview Expressway has been confirmed as Emmanuel Moncoeur, a 57-year-old real estate agent with eXp Realty. The New York Police Department (NYPD) made the announcement on Friday, following an investigation that revealed Moncoeur's body had been discovered by a passerby near the Union Turnpike exit on Tuesday morning.
Moncoeur's hands were bound and he showed signs of blunt force trauma to the head, which ultimately led to his death. The New York medical examiner's office has since ruled his death a homicide, with a fractured skull among his injuries.
Friends and family had been searching for Moncoeur since early January, when they last saw him on January 2nd. Although he was never formally reported missing, concern grew as they were unable to reach him by phone. "I thought he was just on his annual trip to Haiti," said Renel Saint-Amour, Moncoeur's brother.
Moncoeur had a long and distinguished career in real estate, spanning over 20 years. He worked as a sales and sponsoring manager for eXp Realty in Rosedale, New York, and was also listed as an associate real estate broker on OneKey MLS, the largest multiple listing service in New York.
The investigation into Moncoeur's death is ongoing, with police currently working to identify any suspects. As the community mourns the loss of this dedicated real estate professional, his family and friends are left searching for answers about what led to his tragic demise.
