A
local real estate agent and former president of the Broward Young Republicans, Connor Sheridan, was identified by his organization earlier this week. His mother, Colleen Sheridan, worked at The Society of St. Vincent de Paul North Broward and volunteered at two dog rescue organizations. Detectives are investigating a tragic family incident in which James Sheridan, 80, fatally shot his son, 31-year-old Connor, and wife, 71-year-old Colleen, before taking his own life.
The bodies were discovered by deputies and fire personnel after a welfare check on Wednesday night at the Sheridan's home in Pompano Beach. Friends of the family have set up an online fundraiser to cover funeral expenses, which will be held at St. Coleman Catholic Church on April 3.
Neighbors reported that they had noticed something was amiss when the Sheridan's cars remained parked for an extended period and their mailbox became overflowing. Detectives are urging anyone with information about this or other cases to contact Broward County Crime Stoppers.
