California man accused of attacking realtor arrested after chase

32‑year‑old man arrested after attacking a real estate agent and leading police on a chase from Banning to Moreno Valley.

n Oct. 6, 2025 at 8:25 a.m. PDT, the Banning Police Department announced the arrest of Daniel Moreno, 32, from Corona. Moreno allegedly attacked an agent at a home on the 1200 block of Butterfly Way near N. 8th and Wilson on Oct. 2. The victim was wounded, treated on scene, and later taken to a trauma hospital.

    Moreno fled in a Hyundai Elantra. Police chased him through Banning streets, the westbound 10 Freeway, and the 60 Freeway. The pursuit ended in Moreno Valley near Frederick Street and Atlantic Circle when a Riverside County Sheriff’s unit performed a PIT maneuver. Moreno was taken into custody without incident.

    He was booked at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility on charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, mayhem, and felony evasion. Case number 25‑1839.
