BRE has appointed Henry Chin, Ph.D. as its new Global Head of Research, overseeing a team of nearly 600 experts who provide critical insights to real estate investors and occupiers. He succeeds Richard Barkham, Ph.D., who will retire from CBRE at the end of June after more than a decade with the company.
Dr. Chin brings over a decade of experience to his new role, having most recently served as Global Chief Operating Officer for CBRE Research and Head of Investor Thought Leadership. Prior to this, he held various leadership positions within the company, including Head of Research, Asia Pacific, and Head of Research, EMEA from 2019-2020.
CBRE's COO and CEO of Advisory Services, Vikram Kohli, praised Dr. Chin's expertise in analyzing global real estate markets and sectors, stating that his focus on producing actionable insights will benefit the company and its clients. Kohli also thanked Richard Barkham for his contributions to CBRE Research over the past 10 years.
Dr. Chin's background includes senior research and investment strategy positions at PGIM and Deutsche Bank Group, as well as a stint as lead Asian real estate analyst for DTZ in London. He holds degrees from National Taipei University, the University of Reading, and Oxford Brookes University.
