BRE, a leading commercial real estate brokerage firm, recently announced the addition of a new top office broker to their esteemed New York team. Charles Laginestra, a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in the industry, has joined the firm after spending seven years at Fisher Brothers.

    Laginestra's impressive track record includes brokering the largest office lease of 2023, a massive 765,000-square-foot deal for law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison at 1345 Sixth Avenue. His father, Michael Laginestra, is a vice chairman at the brokerage, boasting over 100 million square feet of office leases under his belt, along with three prestigious REBNY dealmaker awards.

    Laginestra's brother, Rocco, is also a tenant representative at the firm, having served for more than two decades. Additionally, their uncle Charles Laginestra works as a broker in northern and central New Jersey for the same firm.

    During his time at Fisher Brothers, Laginestra successfully leased an impressive 62 percent of the landlord's portfolio. He was instrumental in securing leases for major clients such as Evercore (400,000 square feet at Park Avenue Plaza), Morgan Stanley (330,000 square feet at Park Avenue Plaza), and ICE (145,000 square feet at 1345 Avenue of the Americas).

    Before joining Fisher Brothers, Laginestra spent a year at CBRE and worked as a broker at Trinity Real Estate for six years prior.

    The Laginestra family is one of several influential dynasties emerging in the commercial brokerage business over the last decade. According to a Wall Street Journal report, Michael Laginestra instilled in his children a deep appreciation for real estate by driving them around and pointing out buildings where he had recently closed deals, saying, "If it wasn't for me, that building wouldn't have been built."

    In a recent development, JLL, a leading commercial real estate services firm, hired one of their top office brokers. Fisher Brothers secured the nation's largest office lease of 2023, a significant milestone in their journey towards success. Evercore, a financial services firm, is reportedly nearing a deal to expand their operations by 170,000 square feet at Park Avenue Plaza.
