hristie's International Real Estate has appointed Gavin Swartzman as its new president, effective in June. The announcement was made internally at the company's annual conference in New York earlier this month. Swartzman will oversee global strategy and expansion for the luxury real estate network, which comprises over 100 member firms across 50 countries.
Co-CEO Thad Wong praised Swartzman's extensive experience, saying he has "a resume and skillset that is one of a kind." Wong noted that Swartzman has led multiple brokerage firms, worked with top luxury brands, and managed companies in both public and private sectors. Swartzman replaces former co-presidents Natalie Hamrick and Kevin Van Eck, who left the company within the last three months.
Swartzman joins Christie's from Peerage Realty Partners, where he spent 11 years as CEO of a Toronto-based holding company that owns multiple brokerages in the U.S. and Canada. He is affiliated with major brands including Sotheby's International Realty and Century 21. Swartzman expressed his enthusiasm for the role, citing his early experience working with Christie's affiliate Chestnut Park, which sparked his passion for luxury real estate.
