ompass is launching a new client interface, dubbed Compass One, which it claims is the "#1 most requested piece of technology" for agents and clients. This platform puts Private Exclusives and Coming Soon listings front and center, allowing buyers and sellers to navigate the entire transaction with their agent.
The company's head of growth says that if you're not working with Compass, you're missing the market. The new portal is designed to streamline the transaction process for buyers and sellers while helping agents build more business. It integrates service providers such as mortgage brokers or inspectors and offers a detailed timeline of the buying and selling process.
Compass is pushing its private listings channel, encouraging agents to pitch sellers on the Compass Private Exclusives channel first and the Coming Soon channel second before going to the open market. This strategy aims to help sellers avoid "negative insights" such as days on market and price reductions.
The company has about 5,500 Private Exclusive listings and is betting on a future where the Clear Cooperation Policy is repealed. Compass founder and CEO Robert Reffkin has been a leading voice calling for the repeal of this policy, which requires agents to add a listing on the MLS one business day after publicly marketing it.
Compass One allows buyers and sellers to work together through the entire transaction, with access to exclusive properties via their agent. The company is aligning its strategy to focus on private listings, preparing for a future where the Clear Cooperation Policy may no longer be in place.
The new platform also integrates Compass' 3-phase marketing strategy, which aims to build up interest and demand before listing a property on the open market. This approach is designed to serve clients' best interests by avoiding "negative insights" that can hurt their value.
Compass is not focused on dual agency, saying it's not something they track or encourage. The company's goal is to create an environment where the best agents want to come and stay because they're creating value for them.
