omedian Bill Cosby has lowered the price of his historic Manhattan townhouse to $6.75 million, a $250,000 reduction from its original April listing. The Upper East Side residence is situated within the Treadwell Farm Historic District, one of New York City's earliest designated preservation areas.
The four-story property dates back to the 1800s and spans approximately 5,000 square feet. It features six bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, a sunroom, and potential for a rooftop terrace. Notable amenities include an elevator with access to the rooftop, a ground-floor sunroom that opens onto a backyard, and a top-floor primary suite with skylights and cedar-lined closets.
The townhouse has been owned by Cosby and his wife Camille since 1980, but it's now entangled in a foreclosure case. CitiMortgage alleges the couple defaulted on a $4.2 million loan issued in 2010, which the Cosbys have denied. Their legal team argues that the lender inflated the amount owed.
The price cut comes as Cosby faces ongoing financial and personal challenges. He was convicted of aggravated indecent assault in 2018 but had his conviction overturned in 2021 due to due process violations.
