akota Johnson and Chris Martin’s romance appears to have ended for good, especially after Martin’s rumored link to Sophie Turner. Johnson, however, has signaled a fresh chapter by purchasing a new Hollywood Hills property. According to Star Magazine, she paid $5.3 million on October 17 for a Mediterranean‑style home surrounded by trees, featuring minimalist design and abundant natural light. The estate includes three bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, and a guest house—an upscale retreat whose standout feature is its prime location.
Martin has long favored Malibu, where the couple bought a home in 2020. Yet Johnson’s return to the Hollywood Hills—where she owned a $3.55 million mid‑century modern house since 2016—shows she’s prioritizing her own preferences over the couple’s shared Malibu lifestyle.
Johnson and Martin met in 2017 through mutual friends, confirmed their relationship a year later, and briefly split in summer 2019 before reconciling. They moved in together in 2021, announced their engagement in early 2025, but reportedly called it quits in June 2025. A source told The Sun that despite efforts to resolve issues, the age gap and differing views on children—Johnson wanting them, Martin being less inclined—contributed to the split.
