T
he Hochul administration has chosen a team led by BXP and BRP Companies to construct a $1.4 billion housing and hotel project on the Far West side. The project will include two towers, one with residential units and the other with a Hilton hotel. The decision to prioritize housing on the site was made after a change in governors and replacement of the original blueprints. The project will also feature mixed-income housing, a climate museum, and a restaurant and training facility. The team's experience in developing mixed-income housing and working with Amtrak contributed to their selection for the project. The project will exceed the city's residential floor area ratio threshold and will go through a general project plan process due to being on state-owned land.
