A
new skyscraper in Brazil, the Senna Tower, is set to become the world's tallest apartment building, surpassing NYC's Central Park Tower. The 154-floor structure will rise over 1,800 feet above the upscale beach resort of Balneário Camboriú, earning it a spot among the city's many high-rise buildings, which have earned it the nickname "Dubai of Brazil."
The tower's top floor units come with price tags to match their lofty heights. Two triplex penthouses will be sold by Sotheby's for a staggering $53 million each, more than triple the original estimate of $15.92 million. Even the smallest units at the tower will sell for around $5 million.
The Senna Tower is inspired by the life of Formula 1 racing legend Ayrton Senna and features a design that symbolizes his journey of overcoming challenges. The project is a collaboration between FG Empreendimentos, the Senna family, and Brazilian retailer Havan, with an estimated investment of over $525 million.
The tower will contain 228 units in total, including apartments up to 4,300 square feet and suspended "mansions" spanning 4,520 to 6,060 square feet. Four duplexes, each about 6,450 square feet, will also be available. Construction is expected to be completed by 2033.
The Senna Tower's prices are a far cry from the world's most expensive apartment, currently held by a penthouse in Monaco's Odeon Tower, which sold for over $335 million.
