East Side Condo Sets Record with $2 Million Townhouse Sale in Providence

East Side condo sells for record-breaking price, second-highest in NYC history.

A
record-breaking sale has taken place on Providence's East Side, with a $2 million transaction for a townhouse at 317 Wayland Ave. This sale surpasses the highest price ever recorded for a condo in the neighborhood and ranks as the second-highest citywide, according to Kerry Park, senior vice president of the Rhode Island Association of Realtors.

The four-bedroom, five-bathroom townhouse underwent a comprehensive renovation, featuring a new kitchen with custom cabinetry, a walk-in pantry, and heated tile flooring. Real estate agent Judy Chace described the property as "absolutely stunningly beautiful." While Chace wasn't surprised by the sale's record-breaking status, she noted that the location is more akin to a single-family home area.

The previous highest condo transaction in Providence was $2.1 million in 2009 for a unit at 1 West Exchange St. in downtown Providence. The buyers were represented by Mott & Chace Sotheby's International Realty, while Gerri Schiffman of Residential Properties represented the sellers.
