lon Musk's frequent visits to Florida have sparked speculation about his potential move to the Sunshine State. Two real estate experts believe the billionaire may be considering a permanent residence in South Florida. Troy Ippolito, CEO of Troy Dean Home, thinks Musk is drawn to the area's innovative spirit and growing tech scene. "You can't have all these really smart people moving to South Florida for no reason," he said.
Steve Hall, a top-grossing agent with Compass, suggests that Musk might be eyeing a property near President-elect Donald Trump's Palm Beach estate. He notes that the area is attractive due to its proximity to Mar-a-Lago and the potential for high-security properties. "I think if he wanted an air quote 'crash pad' for his visits to Mar-a-Lago, he would probably buy in La Clara or The Bristol," Hall said.
Musk has already made himself comfortable at Trump's estate, spending holidays there and bringing his children along. However, Ippolito believes that Musk might prefer a more exclusive property with a helicopter pad landing. "He'd want a beautiful estate in Palm Beach Island, and he'd want a helicopter pad landing for his condo in Brickell," he said.
As the CEO of Tesla and DOGE co-chair, Musk has made significant investments in real estate before. He owns a modest home worth $50,000 in Texas and an "events" property in San Francisco. Ippolito thinks that a Palm Beach investment would be worthwhile for Musk due to the area's growing population and increasing property values.
Both experts believe that Musk will eventually join the list of billionaires and business moguls moving to South Florida. They predict that the local market will continue to thrive, especially with the new administration in place. "There's no wrong way to go," Ippolito said. "My advice is to find somewhere that you love, feel safe, feel secure."
