E
ric Adams' mayoral campaign is gaining traction from the city's real estate elite, who are seeking an alternative to Zohran Mamdani. Since June 10, Adams has raised over $1.5 million, with a significant portion coming from prominent real estate firms. SL Green Realty, the city's largest commercial landlord, contributed $67,301 through more than 60 employee donations. CEO Marc Holliday hosted a fundraiser that reportedly raised $1 million for Adams' campaign.
Cushman & Wakeman and CBRE Group also made substantial contributions, with 20 employees donating $21,670 and 33 employees contributing $36,250 respectively. Renaissance Properties president Kenneth Fishel and his wife Maria donated $2,100 each after hosting a Hamptons fundraiser for Adams. This influx of donations from real estate interests is notable, given the industry's significant influence on city policy.
Andrew Cuomo also received substantial backing during the primary, with former mayor Michael Bloomberg and hedge-fund billionaire Bill Ackman among his top donors. However, Ackman has since shifted his support to Adams.
