FAU Business hosts conference to preview finance & real estate future as South Florida becomes “Wall Street South.”

lorida Atlantic University’s College of Business will host the second annual Boca Finance & Real Estate Conference, a two‑day event that examines the future of finance and real estate as South Florida solidifies its reputation as “Wall Street South.”

    The conference gathers leading experts from the Federal Reserve, universities such as Maryland, Texas, Florida, Florida State, FIU, USF, Mississippi, Houston, Miami, Kentucky, Rice, Cornell, and Auburn. Sessions will cover real‑estate trends, the rise of artificial intelligence in finance, and the current economic climate.

    Keynotes and panels include:

    * **Alok Kumar, Ph.D.** – Gabelli Asset Management Chair, Miami Herbert Business School – “The Inflation Gamble” (Nov. 14, 8:15 a.m., College of Business, Schmidt Family Complex).

    * “Fannie and Freddie: Past, Present and Future” – panel of former Fannie Mae and FHFA officials.

    Real‑estate sessions feature:

    * “Unlocking the Future of Real Estate” (Nov. 13, 1 p.m.) with speakers Ryan Greenblatt (FAU), Randy I. Anderson (USF), Scott Hughes (Trimont), Joshua Harris (CrossMarc), Stace Sirmans (Auburn), and Ken H. Johnson (Mississippi).

    Dean Daniel Gropper, Ph.D., notes the conference’s role in spotlighting South Florida’s dynamic real‑estate market and growing financial sector. Finance Chair Anita Pennathur, Ph.D., highlights the event’s bridge between academic theory and industry practice, aiming to spur regional innovation.
