Florida Mega-Mansion with Replica Oval Office Hits Market for $23.6M

A sprawling estate with a storied history, this mansion is the ultimate symbol of power and prestige.

A
$23.6 million estate on Lake Thonotosassa, just outside Tampa, Florida, is set to hit the market with a unique feature: a 900-square-foot replica of the Oval Office.

Built in 2012 by Tom and June Simpson, the custom-designed property spans 22 acres and reflects their shared passions for American history and Major League Baseball. The Oval Office was a particular source of joy for Tom, who decorated it annually with official White House ornaments and even used a desk previously featured in the film "National Treasure."

The estate's highlights include a baseball-themed room with vintage Yankee Stadium seats and display cases for Tom's Atlanta Braves memorabilia. A hallway known as the "Walk of Fame" showcases signed guitars used by performers like The Beach Boys and Aerosmith, along with floor plaques honoring celebrities the couple met.

The property also features an indoor lagoon with a waterfall, a movie theater, and an outdoor kitchen. June Simpson hosted elaborate parties on the 22-acre property, including a Navy SEAL reenactment. After Tom's death in 2024, June decided to sell the estate, which can be purchased in its entirety or in two separate parcels.

The listing could top the area's previous record, set by Derek Jeter's $22.5 million home sale in 2021. Wealthy buyers are paying all cash for real estate amid market volatility, according to Karen L. Hegemeier of Premier Sotheby's International Realty.
