ecember 7, 2025 8:41 am EST – Ken Griffin’s final Chicago condo, a full‑floor duplex penthouse at 800 N. Michigan Avenue in Park Tower, has gone under contract for $12.5 million, about 20 % below its July listing of $15.75 million. The sale marks the end of Griffin’s Chicago real‑estate divestiture that followed Citadel’s relocation of its global headquarters to Miami in June 2022.
Griffin’s spokesperson confirmed the contract to Bloomberg, noting the property was dubbed the “crown jewel” of the building. The move to Miami was announced in 2022, and since then the billionaire has shed most of his high‑end Chicago holdings.
During a Bloomberg interview in February 2022, Griffin praised Florida’s government for its focus on traditional community values. At a Miami Economic Club event, he highlighted the state’s safe streets, quality schools, strong community spirit, and vibrant cultural scene. He also said that South Florida’s real‑estate returns over the past seven years are hard to beat.
In October, at a Citadel Securities conference in New York, Griffin revealed plans for a new office tower in Miami’s Brickell district, estimating the project at roughly $2.5 billion. The tower will serve as the new hub for Citadel and Citadel Securities, underscoring the firm’s shift from Chicago to the South Florida market.
