A
piece of Los Angeles history is up for grabs at a significantly reduced price. The 1951 Bel Air residence once owned by Elon Musk and the late Gene Wilder is now on the market for $9.5 million, down from its original asking price of $12.95 million.
The property's current owners, Jordan Walker-Pearlman and his wife Elizabeth Hunter, are facing foreclosure after falling behind on loan payments to Musk. The tech mogul had sold the house to them in 2020 for $7 million, with an additional $6.7 million loan to seal the deal.
Gene Wilder purchased the property in 1976 for $300,000 and owned it for decades before selling it in 2007 for $2.7 million. Musk bought it in 2013 for $6.75 million, but announced in 2020 that he would sell his physical possessions, including this house.
The residence remains in its original state, maintaining its historic charm with features like wood-beamed ceilings, a circular bar area, and fireplaces. The current listing also stipulates that the house cannot be demolished. Outside, there are seating areas and a kidney-shaped pool.
If it doesn't find a buyer soon, the property will go up for public auction on December 3.
