former CEO of Silver State Health Services, David Ryan Linden, and a real estate investor, Rich Kiran Saga, have been indicted for allegedly embezzling over $2 million in federal grant funds meant to support indigent clients at a Las Vegas health care center. According to the indictment, Linden and Saga conspired to steal funds from Silver State Health Services between June 2019 and April 2022.
The indictment charges Linden and Saga with multiple counts, including conspiracy, federal program theft, money laundering, and false documentation. If convicted, they each face up to 121 months in prison. A jury trial is set for December 2 before U.S. District Judge Jennifer Dorsey.
Linden and Saga allegedly funneled grant money into their personal bank accounts, using the stolen funds to purchase commercial real estate. The investigation was conducted by the FBI and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Inspector General.
