Fort Worth Real Estate Market Shifts Amid Rapid Growth

Local market becomes one of the country's most dynamic, with shifting mergers and player moves.

F
ort Worth's commercial real estate scene is experiencing rapid growth, with a surge in activity that extends beyond sales and leases. Behind the scenes, job shifts and mergers are reshaping the industry. One notable development is the expansion of HPI, a commercial real estate firm led by former NFL quarterback Colt McCoy. McCoy has brought on board Matt Montague, a 17-year veteran of the industry, as executive managing director.

Montague joins HPI from JLL, where he spent over a decade building a reputation for his expertise in tenant representation, agency leasing, and land transactions. He's closed over $1.5 billion worth of deals across multiple sectors. McCoy sees Montague's diverse perspective as an asset to the firm, citing his ability to navigate complex commercial real estate deals from various angles.

Meanwhile, Ellis & Tinsley Inc. and Vasseur Commercial Real Estate have merged to form Team & Vasseur Commercial Real Estate. The new entity is led by Nathan Vasseur and Charles "C.B." Team, two well-established figures in the local business community. The merger aims to leverage technological efficiencies and enhance back-office operations.

Team & Vasseur will focus on brokerage, property management, and investment services, catering to small businesses and larger clients alike. Bill Ellis, founder of Ellis & Tinsley, will remain involved as a partner, while Vasseur and Team take the reins for the firm's next phase of growth.

Formation Real Estate has also strengthened its team by appointing Grant Huff as vice president. A seasoned commercial realtor with over 15 years of experience, Huff joins Formation from Transwestern, where he played a key role in office and industrial transactions.

These changes come at a time when the Dallas-Fort Worth area is ranked as the top emerging real estate market in the US and Canada, according to the Urban Land Institute's Emerging Trends in Real Estate report. As Fort Worth continues to grow, expect more developments and shifts in the commercial real estate landscape.
