From Debris to Development: Garner Industries Sells Tornado-Damaged Property

Garner Industries sells old property on Cornhusker Highway after EF-3 tornado damage.

A
30-acre property in Lincoln, Nebraska, once home to Garner Industries' production lines and dozens of employees, is now up for sale. The site was severely damaged by an EF-3 tornado last year and has been demolished as part of the cleanup process.

Real estate agent Pat Heiser, who represents Garner Industries on the sale, notes that the biggest challenge in marketing the property has been its current state. "There's a huge hole in it," he said, explaining that no salvageable parts of the building remain. As a result, Garner Industries is taking on the expense of demolishing the site to make it ready for its next owner.

Heiser expressed enthusiasm about helping Garner Industries move forward after the devastating tornado. "It was a no-brainer to help them out," he said, adding that it's not often they get to assist in such a significant way.

The property offers many possibilities for redevelopment, and Heiser is seeking a buyer who can turn it into their company headquarters or mixed-use facility. CL Construction has made significant progress on the demolition and cleanup, but completion is expected to take four to five months.
