udy Giuliani has been ordered to surrender his Upper East Side apartment, a three-bedroom unit on the 10th floor of a pre-war building at 45 East 66th Street. The ruling stems from a $146 million defamation judgment against him for targeting two Georgia poll workers in 2020. The former New York City mayor had listed the apartment with Sotheby's International Realty since July 2023, initially asking $6.5 million before reducing the price to $5.2 million.
Judge Lewis Liman valued the apartment at $5.7 million, and it was delisted in October. Giuliani has a week to turn over the property to a receiver, which will eventually be sold to help pay the legal fees of Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, the mother-daughter poll workers who were defamed by Giuliani.
The apartment features a formal dining room and library, overlooking Madison Avenue. Giuliani purchased it in 2002 for $4.8 million after his divorce from Donna Hanover. In addition to the apartment, he has been ordered to surrender expensive wristwatches, a 1980 Mercedes Benz, and baseball memorabilia. However, he is allowed to retain his Florida residence, a Palm Beach condo, which was hit with a $500,000 IRS tax lien in October 2023.
