asbro is considering a major move from Pawtucket, Rhode Island to downtown Boston. The toy giant has been touring potential spaces in the area and is reportedly seeking between 200,000 and 250,000 square feet for its global headquarters. This would be one of the city's largest office leases since the pandemic.
The company's needs may extend beyond a traditional office space, as it also seeks a location with room to install a research and development production facility. Hasbro has been based in Rhode Island since its founding in Providence, but has been gradually untangling its roots in the state. Last year, it announced plans to leave an office in downtown Providence when its lease expires.
A move to Boston would follow in the footsteps of Lego, which last year announced it would be relocating its corporate headquarters from Connecticut to the city's Back Bay neighborhood by 2026. Hasbro's chief communications officer said the company is exploring options for a new space that can best serve its employees and business needs.
